Pet Wellness and Preventative Medicine

We are dedicated to providing your pet with the best care possible, thereby ensuring a longer, healthier and happier life. Our clinic offers annual physical examinations, vaccinations as required, dental check-ups, preventative deworming and senior programs to help avoid illness and minimize the need to treat preventable diseases. As the saying goes "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".

Nutritional Counseling

A proper diet is essential to your pet's health and well-being. Our clinic offers a variety of quality pet food, whether it is for a specific medical condition or simply to provide a well balanced diet. With the range of foods available, access to the latest in nutritional information, and the belief that good physical fitness leads to good health, we can provide just the right health plan for your pet.

Behavior Consultations

There are many different approaches available to deal with inappropriate behavior in today's pets. We will do our best to help you through consultations, follow ups and provide information specific for your pets unwanted behavior.

Radiology (X-ray)

Our in-house X-ray equipment enables us to quickly assess the status of injuries and many diseases that may be affecting your pet. X-rays can provide additional information regarding your pets illness, which help us to select the most appropriate treatment plan. Both routine and contrast x-rays can be performed.

Laboratory

Diagnostic lab work is often a vital key in diagnosing your pets illness and in detecting early signs of disease in regular health screening. We offer complete analysis of routine blood, urine and fecal samples, with referral for speciality testing as needed.

Pharmacy

Once a diagnosis is made, it is important to begin the appropriate treatment as soon as possible. Our in-house pharmacy makes it possible for us to begin therapy with the prescribed medication before you leave the clinic. Compounding pharmacies provide us with special medications that are used for pets with unique needs or for pets who are difficult to medicate.

Dentistry

Because our pets are living longer, proper dental care is now more important than ever. We offer speciality dental diets, pet chews, toothpastes, toothbrushes and oral rinses to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums in your pet. Our veterinarian and animal health technologist dental team provide complete dental services including preventative care, x-rays, cleaning, polishing and tooth extraction. For complicated conditions requiring state of the art care, a board certified small animal dentist is available at the W.C.V.M.in Saskatoon.

Surgery

We are able to provide safe, efficient surgery using up to date surgical and anesthesia equipment. Both routine surgery, such as spaying and neutering of your pet, are performed as well as more complicated soft tissue and fracture repair procedures. Pre-anesthetic screening,specialized monitoring equipment and thorough pain management are all utilized to reduce anesthetic risk, making your pets surgery as safe and comfortable as possible. If very difficult and complicated surgical treatment is required, we are able to refer you and your pet to a surgical specialist.

Laser Surgery

We are also able to provide laser surgery as an option for our patients. The laser produces an intense beam of light which vaporizes the soft tissue as it cuts. As the beam vaporizes the tissue, it seals blood vessels and nerve endings resulting in less bleeding, swelling and pain. Many of our surgeries can be done using the laser and can have a shorter surgical time at the clinic and shorter recovery time at home. Our feline patients who have been declawed with the laser, go home 1 day earlier.
